Creating Beyond the Extra-ordinary

Behind the enchanting children’s stories set in the timeless landscape of the Australian bush, is the glorious imagination of the author writing as Evelyn Atwater. This nom de plume was born from a lifelong love of 'the whimsy' and a childhood spent exploring the brilliant sunny or starlit skies and the acres of red dirt dotted with many trees including glorious gums and ironbarks, on her family’s property in western Queensland.

Under Evelyn’s pen, the often-sun-baked bush is transformed into a delightful playground where piglets inspire lasting friendships and lambkins fly into starlight. Evelyn has a deep love for the endless beauty, rich history and unique animals and characters who make the Australian bush their home. Simple blank pages morph into lively, uncharted worlds where children’s minds can soar and discover anything is possible with a vivid imagination, notepad and pencil.

At the time of writing, Evelyn has written and published five vibrant children's storybooks. These are: Benji the Naughty Easter Bunny; Primrose Lambkin’s Dinner Party; Periwinkle Piglet and her Awfully Big Adventure; George and Audrey’s Great Escape to the Highway and Pipsqueak’s Paddock Promenade.
The last story includes pages of exciting Q and A activities relating to Pipsqueak's adventure, for young readers to complete while enjoying the process.
